La chasse aujourd'hui n'a plus rien à voir avec la ruralité, mais avec une question de prise de contrôle de la ruralité. La domination de la campagne par des gens qui n'en viennent pas et qui, souvent, n'y vivent pas.
32% des chasseurs sont dirigeants, cadres sup ou de prof intel supérieure et 17% sont des professions intermédiaires. Seuls 12% sont ouvriers et 4% agriculteurs (chiffres chassepassion).

Si les chasseurs ne viennent pas majoritairement des centre-villes, 70% viennent du péri-urbain direct.

L’année 2024 a été la plus meurtrière pour les migrants dans le monde, selon les chiffres de l’OIM, avec un bilan qui dépasse même celui de la terrible année 2016. Ce qui était un drame humanitaire il y a dix ans est désormais ramené au statut de fait divers, comme une fatalité.
