Since the head of *compliance* at the deepfake and child porn website is an English barrister with a license to practice, perhaps people should contact the Bar Standards Board to report their concerns using this handy link:

Today's reminder: Nigel Farage is a traitor to our nation. He has accepted money from foreign governments and organisations that are enemies of our government and must face justice.

Trump administration says it's vital for US security to take Greenland. And yet

-Denmark has offered US anything it wants in boosting US military presence
-The US already has the sole military base
-US has reduced its footprint from a 10,000+ peak to fewer than 200 right now.

It's official. The MOD is officially INSANE letting Palantir anywhere near our data and defense networks.
Palantir, an American technology company with close ties to the Trump administration, has cemented its role analyzing data for the U.K.’s military — despite an ongoing standoff between the two governments over trade and digital regulations.
Palantir lands biggest ever UK defense deal
The £240 million contract with the Ministry of Defence has renewed a debate about Britain’s dependence on American technology.

Why don’t Google AI overviews in the UK just pull info directly from the relevant NHS page?*

* I know why, but there’s no earthly reason why it should do otherwise.
Some of the AI summaries for conditions such as psychosis and eating disorders offered “very dangerous advice” and were “incorrect, harmful or could lead people to avoid seeking help” said the Head of Information at mental health charity Mind

Grok, X and Musk should all be shut down in 2026
There were some people I really liked over there that never made the move. If this doesn’t make you move or just quit social I don’t know man.
This does seem just a little bit bad! Idk the sort of thing you’d think politicians might distance themselves from or something!

Maybe 2026 is the year podcast publishers can sort themselves out and join forces to offer affordable subscription to listeners. I am always asked for financial support but can only buy so many coffees a month. Clearly advertising is a struggle for many and we don't want to lose such great content

The message from government to house building firms should be simple. Push back on green energy tech in new builds at your peril. Every new build should have at least solar/PV panels installed. Failure to comply should lead to financial penalties and revocation of building licenses
“Housing developers in this country have a track record of pushing back against requirements that enhance energy performance of homes. We have seen this with insulation, heat pumps and other technologies. Ultimately, it will be to the detriment of the homebuyer.”

Beer is suffering across Europe and the Atlantic. A really worrying bunch of stats in this piece as shifting government policies towards environmental sustainability, advertising bans and reducing alcohol harm all contribute towards a hostile environment for brewers
It’s not just the US and the UK: the EU’s beer consumption is now below 2019 levels — and falling. Meanwhile, new regulations on labeling and packaging are likely to hit small breweries the hardest. What’s at risk? Part of European culture.
