Teaching & Learning in NYC Schools-We probably met at a PD. Quaker. EdD student.
Broncos, Caps, Arsenal, Mets, Liberty, and Knicks. Bitterly disappointed & irrationally optimistic. Go Blue!
Absolutely. Meanwhile, slightly younger college kids objecting to what is happening in Gaza are both too childish to fully grasp international policy but also fully radicalized threats that require police intervention, billboard trucks, and student visa cancelation threats. Bizarre world.
Notable that Elons crew of incels and edgelords are full fledged men for the purposes of being given the keys to car to run the govt. But for the purposes of being accountable for their actions they’re just kids from good families with youthful indiscretions.

These councils have no real power, which is a big reason why turnout is abysmal, but it is so on the nose that the interests of Bronx HS parents—90% poor, 14% homeless—are represented by two people who don’t live in the Bronx and whose kids go to Bronx schools attended by hardly any Bronx children

On the other side of the coin: if you present yourself as "in the middle," you're perceived as rational, mature, serious. Even when all the data (allegedly the most "serious" thing in the world) says the opposite.

Somehow we've gotten it into our heads that anyone who dares to dream of a better world is engaging in childsplay, and they're talked down to like children. It happened to people who protested police abuses, people who protests for climate justice, and, now, people who protest genocide.

One characteristic of extraordinary teachers, by contrast, is that they're not fazed by kids who challenge them; indeed, they welcome this. They're willing to reconsider what they've said, secure enough not to need to have the last word, and aware that arguing may help to sharpen kids' thinking.

A small study (eric.ed.gov?id=EJ450895) found that teachers’ classroom management strategies are predicted by their own childhood experiences. Those who punish students are more likely to have been punished themselves as children and discouraged from questioning parental authority.
ERIC - EJ450895 - Teachers' Punishment Histories and Their Selection of Disciplinary Strategies., Contemporary Educational Psychology, 1992
Reports of 156 preservice teachers concerning their own disciplinary experiences in their families of origin were used to predict subsequent selection of punitive or nonpunitive classroom management s...

This is what the term "toxic masculinity" does though! The adjective before the noun means not all masculinity is toxic.

Plus, Dems already do not use this term! Your strategy for winning elections cannot be for millions of social media users to never utter phrases that annoy you.

You can't understand this election without grappling with the penetration of right-wing propaganda into every corner of American intellectual life.

The idea that Democrats use this phrase or levy the term against innocent, ordinary male behavior is a Fox News myth.

Good luck to students taking the SHSAT in school today*, and a reminder: prior to 1971, the process was holistic and subjective, in no small part to throttle female enrollment, and it was changed to test-only to ward off questions about why it was excluding Black and Hispanic students
