I’m mentoring a few job-seekers & noticing a generational divide in expectations. I’m curious, if you reach the interview stage of a job search, do you expect to be notified when the position has been filled? Do you follow up? Do you just assume after a period of time that you weren’t hired?

Imagine every author with books in your school library came to the next faculty meeting and you had to explain why stealing their work to train LLMs is OK at your school. What would you say? I’m open to reasonable arguments. I see folks skirting this issue, so I’m asking outright.
