This is so stupid. No level of formalized control over media (not rvennzero) would prevent the current US government from what it's doing. Trump takes over something president has no power over and people just kneel. Regulation exists as a check on private enterprise, not on government.

OpenAl is a banana republic, its costs paid by a consortium of desperate investors with nowhere else to park their cash led by SoftBank, a company that had to take out a $15 billion year-long bridge loan from twenty one different banks just to fund the first $7.5 billion of their $20 to $30 billion investment in OpenAl. Oracle is buying (allegedly) $40 billion of GPUs to put in a data center that will entirely service OpenAL, whose $19 billion part of the Stargate data center projects is either funded by SoftBank or paid up front by Oracle and Blue Owl, who will pay data center startup Crusoe $1 billion regardless of whether anyone actually uses the data center. Oh, and Crusoe has had to take out a $750 million line of credit to build the site out in Texas. This is all so painfully silly! It's all so silly, and I'm the one that people say is silly for pointing it out. OpenAI can't pay its bills, plans to burn over a hundred billion dollars before 2030, and then claims they'll be profitable, somehow, in a way they're yet to discuss or, I'd argue, discover. I don't know how this ends, but I do know that none of this is logical, reasonable or rational, and when it collapses, regular people will end up footing the bill as the markets get savaged by the consequences of a tech industry driven mad by growth.
