As a Clinton voter in 2016 , I don’t recall anywhere near this level of hope and optimism with her as a candidate. Harris’ candidacy is some special and joyous.

I think Norm Ornstein has it right. Most reporters and editors were trained to work on "normal" stories and "normal politics". That's out the window now, and they just don't have anything else they can do within their framework of "balanced" coverage.
