The supermarket bread isle is like the candy isle when it comes to carbs and blood sugar levels. White bread is the skittles. Whole grain is the dark chocolate.

it kills me when people respond to this by saying "it might be hard, but if we can just fix the errors it'll be great"

it can never be fixed because from a process standpoint, *correct answers are also hallucinations*

it's all the same process: generating likely text
The funny thing about calling AI falsehoods "hallucinations" is that it falsely presents the LLM as having an meaningful internal mental state of reason, simply temprorarily restrained and veiled by a state of hallucination, which when removed, would show reason.

It's a magic 8 ball. No reasoning.

1. Today, the Trump administration's HHS Dept., under RFK Jr., released a review of transgender healthcare.

It has no authors. It pushes pseudoscience and conversion therapy. It does not follow a scientific process.

My fact check of the Trump HHS review.

Fact Check: Trump's HHS Review On Trans Care Filled With Lies, Pseudoscience
The review, which was made possible by an executive order calling transgender healthcare "mutilation," reached its predetermined conclusion on its May 1st publication date.

Crazy and yet totally predictable. Meta’s social media chat “friends”, which often license the voices of celebrities, will routinely escalate to explicit sex chats with minors. www.wsj.com/tech/ai/meta...
Meta’s ‘Digital Companions’ Will Talk Sex With Users—Even Children
Chatbots on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp are empowered to engage in ‘romantic role-play’ that can turn explicit. Some people inside the company are concerned.

Im seeing endless workshops on "how to use AI/incorporate AI in the classroom" etc, does anyone know of workshops on how to refuse AI?
Not even be critical of AI (which is often just one or two slides of handwaving-but-it-is-here) but to refuse it in the classroom and in our research?

For more than 50 years the world has agreed to pay for oil in petrodollars. The US in turn reaped trillions in sales of US treasuries. With than excess investment in the US economy the US tacetly accepted the job of security the world against authoritarianism.

Maybe its a good time for a little Executive Order (EO) primer, a few wee tools for sorting wheat from chaff so it seems like less of a deluge. Item 1. EOs have to comply with the Constitution & laws, including acts of Congress. Any that don't will face long court battles before anything changes. /1
