i know it's just advertisement but it still pisses me off when tech CEOs claim AGI will solve humanity's problems with its vast intelligence. for a lot of problems we already know the solutions, what prevents them being solved is not a lack of intelligence, but that the solutions are unprofitable

This is a good idea and I also think non-professor/academics should call their elected officials, but instead of being polite and professional, be aggressive and scary (without putting yourself in legal jeopardy of course)
Every professor/academic on here needs to call their elected officials tomorrow re OBM federal funding pause. Be polite and professional and express your concern. I will be doing this.
