Aside from limited materials, corporations manufacture abroad because of child labor and worker rights laws, as well as OSHA and the federal minimum wage. As poorly conceived as it is, the tariff plan would never have been proposed at all if it didn't also include a plan to repeal those protections.

Cis folks, please read this. It’s an emotionally tough read, but these are the types of stories that need to be shared if we want to ensure that all trans people have human rights.
i think cis people should read this to understand why it’s fucking wrong to cede *any* ground on trans issues because “james carville thinks it doesn’t poll well.”

• trans kids
• trans people who need public bathrooms
• trans athletes
• trans people in prison

all deserve human rights.
Trump is essentially trying to nationalize the cruel and inhumane policies killing trans women in Florida prisons.

All while Gavin Newsom is out there saying that it's too unpopular to oppose raping and forcibly shaving trans women in prisons.

hi, cis folks!

a thing you might not know about trans care is that—even if we can pay for it or have good insurance (most of us don’t)—expenses like “move to another city for 3 weeks & take 6 weeks off work or we won’t do it” are part of it & *never* covered.

could you fund that? give june a hand.
surgery's just over a week away and i still don't have enough to cover my expenses through this month, much less the whole recovery period. still have some time before things get dire but anything helps 💖

sigh.

took lotsa effort to get (mostly) unified NOs on HB28+S9 from dems. media’s been hyped to get them to cave since nov; politico, axios, cnn, et al have spent the week doing “actually dems in disarray & the issue’s a loser.” using carrots & sticks is critical. ⬇️

you’re going to hate that i’m asking this, but if you have a dem senator who voted to stop this, you should call & tell them “good job. we like when you fight. keep it up.”

The National Park Service has removed "T" and all mention of transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument.

Trans women were some of the most influential activists behind the Stonewall movement and what followed.

3 articles of clothing laws were why raids happened.

Erasure.

‼️ The National Park Service has REMOVED mentions of transgender people being involved with Stonewall. Not only did the remove the world "Transgender" but changed "LGBTQ+" to "LGBQ+".

The federal government is attempting to erase us and take away our history.

This pride, we riot.

I couldn’t agree more! And sometimes you need the cognitive estrangement non-mimetic literature can provide in order to work out some stuff in new and interesting ways.
I really hate that there’s a “divide” between literary and genre, and will die on the “there shouldn’t be” hill. If you want to add a “realism” genre that’s fine, but let’s not pretend “realist” books are more “literary” than horrors, mysteries, romances, SFF, etc.
SFF novels do not have to be all action, all the time. They can meander, meditate, bask. In the same vein, they don’t have to spoon-feed the reader from page one; meaning can unfold slowly.

I know literary vs. genre is an age-old blood-feud, but I enjoy books that wander in the between.
