In med school you’d always rotate with these pediatricians who still dressed like it was the 1970s, presumably the decade when they’d been young adults. It occurs to me I dress like it’s still the early 2000s and have therefore become That Attending. I’m okay with that.

I’ve put my Xmas decorations up the day after Election Day ever since November 2004 when Bush-Cheney won a second term because damn I needed something to cheer me up. Today I decorated a day early for the first time and Cheney dropped dead. New tradition.

Just keep in mind if you have a kid at 36 you might find yourself at 46 having to take him trick or treating in gale force winds and a torrential downpour. Would have been up for this in my my thirties, not so much at this point.
