Great to hear a real story, thanks, and all best wishes to you.
I joined the Newport (IOW) Music Shed in 2017. I made many good friends and it gave me the confidence to perform at folk clubs and open mics.
I now play in a band.
I lost my wife in 2023. My new music friends and performing helped immensely in my grief.
It is priceless, well done Age UK.

🔥 Harrods: What do the survivors do now??

The courts, the redress scheme, the police — all form part of the same legal abyss.

◾ Survivors cannot access the courts, let alone for trafficking

◾ Harrods’ “redress” is run by the institution itself

◾ The Met refuses to name the crimes as trafficking
When power is untouchable: the legal abyss facing Harrods survivors
Survivors of abuse connected to Mohamed Al Fayed’s Harrods empire are discovering what “no one is above the law” really means

CMA must block the takeover. No one must own more than one major media outlet. Need diversity and competition.

We all value ‘the rule of law’.

But whose law & rules? Corporations/Rich v Masses.

The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few.

A few crumbs are thrown to pacify the masses but these are concessions and can be withdrawn.

See the linked article.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich

It is both ethically wrong & fundamentally anti-democratic for one man to command this much wealth and power.

States spent centuries trying to tame the power of over-mighty subjects. The rise of the global barons is not compatible with democracy as we've understood it.

Notable in today's YouGov that the centre/left bloc - Lab/Green/LD/SNP are on 54%. With Reform/Tories on 43%. That's the biggest differential in a long time.

I think useful to track blocs given instability between parties at the moment.
