I mostly post about running, Celtic FC and music and although I'm confident I'm my political and moral compass I'm open to differing opinions, that's healthy. I won't tolerate racists, xenophobes or bigots. It's nice to be nice, don't be a dick.
Heavily frosted trails and sunshine have to be my favourite running conditions, 7.5 miles with wee Maggie this morning. The road back after whatever it was I had before Christmas has been hard but feel like I'm turning a corner now

Last week I asked running folks about hydration and the vast majority said they run with some kind of fluid regime. For some it was timed sips, for others, an hourly volume.
Aside perhaps, from very chilly winter races, drinking to a regime may cause problems.

It's not just an increase in mileage that sees me continue to improve, a good mix of easy miles and quality sessions as well as that amount of vert all adds up to a stronger runner. Big PBs in the Devil of the Highlands and half marathon distance were highlights. 2025 I tackle my first 100 mile race

David Roche is the madman who broke the Leadville 100 record in his very first 100-miler. How he did it has something to do with competitive eating, and training less miles faster. But it also has to do with things you’d less suspect. Like empathy, and love even.

When it comes to hypothermia, calories are king!
A cold high calorie drink will do more to warm you than a cup of hot water
Remove wet clothes & swap them out for dry. Eat something. Have a warm sweet drink. Move if you are able
Warm your trunk, not your extremities

Looking for recommendations for a new head torch. Unsure whether to stick Petzl and upgrade or defect to either Silva or Fenix.
Currently using Petzl Actik, only 600 lumens so want something a bit more powerful with good battery life, rechargeable battery also.

Scotland in a great position here, just hope we don't end up regretting those 2 efforts that hit the woodwork. What am I talking about? It's Scotland, of course we'll regret it!🏴
