Around 20% of my work year is on an event called the Spine Race. It's brought me into the most wonderful community of endurance runners. I lead their checkpoint department & place c.150 people from Derbyshire to Scotland each January, to look after 500+ athletes

Anyone know the race?

Hard frost this morning. Many wildlife water sources will be frozen. If you can put out some shallow water for birds etc.
Birds love moving water so I peirce a tiny hole in the bottom of a milk bottle & hang it from a feeder hook or branch to drip into a plant saucer.

13 hour shift today then home to the kids for a late “Christmas Eve” meal and tomorrow is our Christmas Day! Can’t wait!

I’ve been using my much-missed mum’s Christmas tree over the last few years but it seems to have lost a joining piece in our house move, so this year it’s just the top two sections making a mini tree!

It’s a little bit of sparkle to help my recovery along with a smile

This was taken by my son, of me at the bottom of the little climb up Greiscleit looking down onto Tràigh Mheilein, with the tiny island of Fladaigh seen just offshore and the hills of Lewis beyond. It’s a wonderfully calming place to be, with Crabhadail Lochside cottage and ever present golden eagles just a few minutes walk inland. A magical place 💙🤍💙
