This is probably more of Elon’s bluster and a project he’d likely grow bored with and abandon, but I think it would be great for American democracy if he took the 50% of the electorate that votes for right wing weirdos and split it in half.

The vote was 215-214 with the 3 notable missing votes because Dems died in office.

If you are one of those people scolding those of us who say it's time for old ass reps to retire, know you're part of the reason all these Americans got fucked.
House Republicans just passed a bill that will kick 14 million people off their health care, take away free school meals for 18 million kids, and raise our deficit.

Now it goes to the Senate but we need to keep fighting.

part of what makes the right so effective is that not only do they have the money, that money is concentrated in the hands of a few people who can do with it as they wish. on the left, money and power is more diffuse, which makes it harder to manifest political will into action

I love paying TurboTax a few hundred bucks every year to figure out how much money I owe the government, which the government already knows, but won't tell me because TurboTax pays legislators to keep the government from telling me. 😻

The same oligarchs who claim they hate government handouts are almost entirely reliant on government handouts themselves. Some would say it is hypocritical. But remember that hypocrisy is merely an expression of power.

The Democratic Party’s problems are not about being moderate or left. That’s a consultant and pundit red herring

The problems are in party organization, the culture of “it’s their turn” nominations, candidate recruitment, gerontocracy, inability to shape media topics, and coming off hella lame

For those that live in or care about New York City and our streets, I give you the NYC Micromobility starter pack. Also, surprisingly a stellar general #urbanism pack, given how many world class voices we seem to have here...
