Finished my first book of the year, Parable of the Sower. Delighted to find out it is part of a series - Maybe I should have known that? I guess that's why I am reading more - to be less dumb

A few people told me Smile 2 was awful but I thought it was pretty bangin’. Not an all-timer but I enjoyed it, and I think I’m usually pretty tough to please in the horror genre

Went to an open jam last night and we played some original stuff but most funny and interesting to play a few early Alanis Morrisette songs. “Ironic” and “You Outta Know” still bang and it’s fun to play songs you know but never tried to play. Also some random Smiths and Neil Young songs 😝

Went to the Portland art museum again today, I feel like the membership I got for my partner and I is a great investment. I like this piece a lot, also the Paul McCartney photo exhibit is excellent for fans of the Beatles early work

Hung out at a house venue that was also a vintage shop to see my friend's band play tonight. I've had so many good nights like that here in Portland, also saw a band that was new to me that I enjoyed - The bands were Whisper Hiss, Pulsa and Salo Panto

I am sports-brained poisoned but I do realize in the grand scheme of things that shit just isn't that big of a thing. I like to paraphrase that old saying from that one pope "Of all the unimportant things football is the most important" - he meant soccer but substitute any sport or sport in general
