i can’t stop thinking about this or the nyt correction either. “pre-existing health problems” is a socially disastrous concept.

The truth of the situation is even worse than this “context” added by the NYT.

There is free, universal healthcare in Israel paid for by US tax payers *and* Palestinians can’t access it because of apartheid.

building a Dyson sphere around the sun is an incomprehensible undertaking. building one around the solar system is simply impossible in even the wildest sci fi projections of the future

every statement Altman and his fellow tech oligarchs make is just as preposterous
The people dominating our political landscape, culture, and economy are just so stupid and full of shit it's almost impossible to describe

They're trying to convince everyone that building a Dyson Sphere around the solar system is more realistic than increasing the capital gains tax

Yeesh. Someone tell the Fearless Leader that "I know you are, but what am I" was a stupid retort even when he first uttered it at age 8. Also, CAPS LOCK is not a slam dunk rhetorical tool.

We recognize 1/6 was a test. This display shows him, his acolytes and detractors, that he can and will, by any means necessary, wield power. Remember he told Christian Nationalists they’d never have to vote again? Remember too how he watched the violence on 1/6? Sickly, he lusts for provocation.

It’s not silly or performative.
These are tests and practice runs. If Dems win the midterms, MAGA is going to declare the elections illegitimate. They’ll ignore congress, deny funds, salaries, access to offices or just outright abolish congress. They’re preparing for a full dismantling of the US.

Every day, I am thinking about what this means for 2028.
Soldiers in MRAPs rolling around Union Station—blocks from the Capitol—seems silly, performative, and useless.

But it raises a much darker question:

What would Trump have done on Jan. 6, 2021 if he had possessed then the kind of control over local law enforcement that he seeks to acquire today?

Dear God,

Shouldn’t we be asking the Republicans near us (County/State Party officials, Rs elected to our city council, county commission, boards, Sheriff, etc) why they support protecting and coddling a convicted sexual child abuser and trafficker like Maxwell?

Amen.

Gonna go further onto that limb and imagine that this guy generated this list from a podcast episode, a Gemini prompt, and that book report on Hamlet he wrote in ninth grade. I don't think skimming the clifnotes makes you a Schopenhauer expert.
going to go out on a limb and imagine this guy's not actually very good at conversations

Fear is a common tool of oppressors because it’s a projection of an experience they know because there are *always* more of us than them.

There’s a reason they go after defenseless people to spread terror.
did you know that white ppl make up less than 7% of the global population?

this is incredibly relevant to the fascism of it all
