Blue spot in a red state; wanting a better world for my daughters and granddaughter.
Unbelievable. The Democratic Party has once again managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
"Democrats could have held the line on the shutdown, and spent weeks watching Trump’s approval ratings fall," writes @jonathanbchait.bsky.social
Instead, he argues, they're making a mistake by giving in:

The shutdown was hurting Trump. Ending it helps him.

Again, if you want to get a COVID19 vaccine this year, please consider getting it before RFK Jr’s fraudulent Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meets on September 18-19.

There is every reason to believe they will further restrict access. Absolutely shameful.
RFK Jr.’s CDC may limit COVID shots to 75 and up, claim they killed kids
A battle is brewing over mRNA vaccines, which could intensify backlash against Kennedy.

If u watch the whole clip here this is about as good as you’re gonna get from a Republican leader rn; contrast it with the myriad other prominent conservatives in politics and media calling for blood, gore, and preemptive blame games
Spencer Cox: "Our nation is broken. We had political assassinations recently in Minnesota. We had an attempted assassination on the gov of Pennsylvania. And we had an attempted assassination on a president. Nothing I say can unite us as a country. Nothing I can say right now can fix what is broken"

This is not the message the country needs. We need unifying leadership to take down the temperature, not exploitative blame-seeking that falsely pins all political violence on one side of the spectrum to fit Trump’s narratives. Enough. Americans are tired of the divisiveness.
Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

Charlie Kirk's political and social opinions are hateful garbage. And he has the same right as anyone else to express them without fear of being shot. Political violence suppresses all free speech, not just the stuff we agree with.

It’s unfortunate this has to happen. But the Texas Republicans aren’t even trying to hide the political motivations for drawing new districts upon orders from Trump. If this is the only way to take a stand, we have to do it.

More maneuvering on the part of Republicans, with Texas playing the supporting role of lapdog.
California and New York should get to work. Unilateral disarmament is a bad strategy.

Two weeks ago, we saw the largest protests in U.S. history.

For those who oppose this Administration’s illegal actions, #NoKings has become a rallying cry. So I thought I’d share a story that highlights the origins of that slogan—and one city’s outsized role in the American Revolution. (1/7)

Could he be more obvious??
Trump tells his followers to buy stock in the morning, minutes after the market opens, then announces he is pausing tariffs 4 hours later.

Nothing to see here.
