Did you know you can learn all about The Hobbit in "A Brief History of The Hobbit"? Written by John D. Rateliff and published ten years ago on 15 January 2015, the book includes the complete manuscript of The Hobbit and sheds light onto the story and #Tolkien's creative process.

A fascinating article in @nytimes.com about Karen Wynn Fonstad, cartographer of Middle-earth (and so much more). Worth reading this article and checking out The Atlas of Middle-earth if you haven't already! www.nytimes.com/2025/01/13/o...

As @vladvexler.bsky.social recently expressed it, the problem with Lex Fridman's show is that while ostensibly about politics, it is politics that is the elephant in the room.
Fridman is a master of depoliticized pseudo political podcasts. Everyone is assumed to have good intentions, and he doesn't see that some viewpoints are mutually exclusive. His instinct is thus that Zelensky and Putin both have valid ideas, and that they need sit down and listen to each other.
Fridman seems devoid of empathy. I'm not saying he's a sociopath, but something is actually missing in him and he cannot relate to what Zelenskyy is saying, e.g. about the pain of losing a family member. Fridman keeps saying he wants "peace," but he clearly does not understand what that means.

Biden allowed Ukraine to use long-range rocket artillery (ATACMS) to hit into Russia, confident they would only have a small number of missiles to fire.
In October 2024, our team at Frontelligence Insight published an analysis showing that the limited number of remaining ATACMS was unlikely to have a significant impact on the battlefield. While we didn’t share exact numbers publicly, they are now available in the NYT article:
