ICMYI: reported protests in the US in 2025 are almost certainly outpacing protests during Trump 1.0. In March 2025, we recorded significant growth in the number of cumulative events, and also an uptick in the rate of events (# of protests/week).

I’ve been following Sen. Booker’s insta for a long time, and one of the regular features is a little pep talk during his daily run. He’s vegan, and he works out consistently.

We can’t all do what he did, but this is what it means to stay ready. Take good care of yourselves out there.

There are (at least) 2 things that I think will make this term more intense than TFG’s last:
1. Having won once, he didn’t think he could be beaten. He didn’t like it.
2. The DOJ’s slow pace made him feel fear, but not consequences. Maybe the most dangerous pace they could have chosen.

Today in history, 1883: The Pendleton Civil Service Act is signed into law by President Chester Arthur, mandating that federal hiring be based on merit rather than political patronage. It also made it illegal to fire federal workers for political reasons. /1

This term, TFG is wasting no time with an illusion of respectability. He wants every nominee to be as clearly depraved as he is.

David asks in the thread “are agencies sharing non-public data with [DOGE?]”

I’d like an answer. And then to know whether Musk et al are trading on the info. The legitimate administration—which doesn’t seem to care—has 10 days to expose stuff like this, after which I guess there’ll be no recourse.
DOGE has 50 employees and expects 100 next week. Operating out of SpaceX offices and have "begun agency reviews"

If I'm a federal manager and a non-govt / non-transition / non-FACA group calls, what authority do they have to tell me to talk to them?

Men who are leftists because they’re contrarians are entirely different from women who are progressives because they want everyone’s needs to be met.

We do all need to work together in this big tent, but one of those groups is a lot more motivated to collaborate than the other one.

The fab five are so sweet, and I believe them when they tell folks they’re worth love and care, but a week of consumption is not going to hold against the way late-stage capitalism is wearing most of their heroes down.

🎯 Seriously, journalists need to look in the mirror and ask themselves why is it that Americans feelings about “Trump’s far-reaching agenda” weren’t clear BEFORE the election?
The Post properly mocks voters' ignorance about the impact of deportations and tariffs--but who is responsible for that ignorance? That, the #BrokenPost & journalists do not examine with a mirror.
