post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

There are so many people living lives of quiet dignity despite horrific medical news or poverty or tragedy where every day they still wake up and try to be good people in the world even as the world pushes against them and it makes me even angrier at the absolute shitheads that rule over things

@themountaingoats.bsky.social I know this is an old joke you probably forgot, but every December my family sings:

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Except for Summer, let's be honest
And Spring's pretty great
And then don't forget Fall!

So thank you for that

I deep, deep wish I have is that people could become more comfortable with the idea you can like some things a person says/does and dislike others. It doesn’t have to all be 100% heroes and villains.

so where are the op-eds about republican overreach today? where’s the commentary about donald trumps war against american citizens or his terror campaign targeting brown people? where’s the pearl clutching over the conservative social media bubble reliant on nazi propagandists?

Trump is incapable of learning. Other GOP incumbents seeing tonight's results will draw the correct conclusion that everything Trump does is turning to shit at the ballot box. The question becomes how do they react: reject Trump or double down on rejecting democracy?

Oddly one of the things that makes me feel old is when movie theaters advertise that they're showing something "in 35mm!!!" That used to just be "going to the movies."

Always respect people working, particularly if you are not working when you encounter them. If someone is at their job, whatever that job is, don't make their work day harder on them.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

I’m a sound guy at a press event in a movie about a politician. I don’t wear headphones or carry a mixer because I record in my heart. I hold the boom mic minimum 15’ away from anyone speaking. I smile excitedly, just grateful to be here.
I am a critic in a movie about the arts. I live in an immense big-city apartment or a very attractive old house that I own. I am only seen eating in fancy restaurants. I enjoy breaking the hearts of artists, especially at public events that are supposed to be about them.
I’m a writer in a film. my agent has no life and will abandon Thanksgiving dinner with their family to fly 4 hours and drink half a bottle of wine with me on the sidewalk outside a restaurant because I feel sad.
