Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.
This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

#Coffee people talk about their favorite beans, process, tools, etc. I’ve tried some of them and I always just go back to drinking bulk ground coffee in a drip machine.
I can taste the difference, but it’s just never enough to justify the extra cost and effort. 🤷♂️

Setup octoprint on a pi zero with a camera for my 3d printer over the break. So far so good. Hoping to make it more accessible for my kids to print in their own.

Pulled out my semi expensive outdoor LED Christmas lights and they have sections out. This is worse than the incandescent lights.

Finally decided to permanently mount a security camera that's been precariously mounted on a paint stick slid in the soffit trim. That temporary hack lasted 2 years. It was still working just fine, I just finally got tired of the shame every time I looked at it. 🤪

It builds momentum for the devs. They can get a win and gain confidence to do more of that.
It also builds momentum with management who never want to deal with tech debt. They get to see that tech debt doesn’t have to always get in the way of features.

Pro tip - I never use notifications for any social media app. Nothing can ever happen on social media that I need to be notified of. I only see it if I choose to check it. Protects my peace nicely.

Spending some time today sprucing up a library by replacing mocha/chai/sinon with the built in node:test and node:assert.
I like having less dependencies! Still working through muscle memory of new apis though.
