A podcast was - and should still be - an enthusiast driven audio forum; a hand written fanzine about your favourite band or team printed after hours on the school photocopier.
Not a celebrity fronted marketing exercise recycling an already successful TV show with one eye on a Netflix special. Fin.

There's lots of things great about living in Scotland, free prescriptions and free uni for example. But by far the best is having tattie scones on a fry up and readily available in supermarkets

This was something we said again and again in interviews and talks about the Ladybird books.

When you give a child something made carefully and skilfully, they feel it. A treat. “For me?”

We all remember that feeling.

When you give a child something half-arsed, you tell them they don’t matter.
I keep seeing generative AI being used on stuff for kids, like maybe they won’t notice, or it doesn’t matter as much. The opposite is true. Anyone who’s created anything for kids knows you should make more effort for them, not less.

This is a cracking book which gives you an insight into the mind of someone who is swept up with a toxic man who works in comedy, but could be your boss, brother or husband. Excellent first novel by @jnraeside.bsky.social

Can't wait for this.
First look at the cover for Quite Ugly One Evening, the new Jack Parlabane novel out in May. It's a locked-room murder mystery set on board a trans-Atlantic liner, and is quite definitely a return to the tone of Quite Ugly One Morning.

1971. Berlin. Germany's most controversial actor returns with a performance about Jesus Christ. As the crowd turn on him, it's very nearly his last.

Meanwhile 50 years later a housebound writer becomes fixated with footage of Klaus Kinski at his most manic.
