Lol. All the anti-trans, reflexively contrarian, “anti-woke” scientists have contributed to a book about how science is under attack.

Somehow, there are no chapters dedicated to how Republicans are decimating research and firing experts.

There’s no “responsible incorporation” of a technology that demonstrates every single bad habit that education is supposed to wean out of students - from making things up to citing sources you haven’t read to using other people’s work without proper permission to even just reading broadly.
👇 Students will be using AI (heavily) whether you like it or not. The challenge for us as educators is to incorporate AI responsibly into our classroom to facilitate learning. We can have a debate on what method is best, but the response "AI is bad, don't use it" doesn't engage with reality.
Yeah, the big issue I’m running into is that students will just go to mainstream LLMs to get explanations rather than find other resources or ask *me* questions - and the LLMs are trained on 2010s LinkedIn/Medium data science slop so they end up with the wrong understanding.

I'm curious. During the campaign, fact-checkers routinely dinged the Harris campaign for calling Project 2025 Trump's playbook, saying "Trump has denied this."

Have any of them admitted how badly they got rolled in the most obvious of ways?
During the campaign, Donald Trump swore he had “nothing to do with” Project 2025. Now, as president-elect, Trump has filled his administration with people who have ties to the right-wing policy blueprint that would overhaul the federal government. nyti.ms/3BhAxxA

now that I’ve had a few days to process the election, I think my reaction is: let blue states cook

no more of this “our infrastructure project needs 80 studies” and refusal to build housing.

it’s time to turn the blue states/cities into a utopia and advertising point for dems

Most of Trump's voters weren't committed ideologues who listen to Steve Bannon's podcast or read Curtis Yarvin's pseudo-philosophical musings. Many just voted on the basis of incorrect information they absorbed from our broken media system.

Still wild to me how the conservative vision of masculinity isn't just toxic, it's *only* the toxic parts. Zero sense of duty, responsibility, stoicism, manning up, taking things on the chin, protecting the weak, etc, etc.

Just endless whining, entitlement, and abuse of others.

This requires total ignorance of the actual framing and targeting of GOP transphobia. Those who would (per Lewis' logic) be actually disadvantaged by trans sporting inclusion - young women - are overwhelmingly pro-Harris. GOP transphobia isn't aimed at them, it's aimed at older social conservatives.

The candidate struggling to win over Latinos got 56% in the poll.
The candidate holding his grip on Latinos got 37%.
Already bad for NYT to treat one poll crosstab as the top story—and any shift of Latinos to the GOP isn't a non-story—but why frame the candidate 19 points ahead as the one trailing?
