Because of the data gathering methods this number is an undercount by at least an order of magnitude. These data come from press clippings almost entirely in states with no systematic way of recording murders of trans individuals. Everyone quoting this number ought to say so.
At least 350 transgender and gender-diverse people have been murdered over the past year, according to the Trans Murder Monitoring Project.

This Trans Day of Remembrance should serve as a rallying cry for vigilance, protection, and action.

Trans creativity is important. By making good art which will last, we ensure that our enemies are loathed by posterity for making our lives unpleasant.

Speaking as an expert on transphobia and the gender critical movement:

Block them. Hide replies. Report them. Do not "debate" them.

The fact that they are campaigning so hard against blocking and in favour of debate/their right to harassment should tell you - it serves their interests to engage.

On top of this, it's also a way better user experience.
Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️

The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion.
When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!

A TALE OF TWO CITIES

HARD ❌

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness... etc.

EASY ✅

It was lit, it was shit

The first known use of singular “they” is so old that not only does it pre-date singular “you,” it wasn’t even spelled with a “th”

When William and the Werewolf, in 1375 CE, used singular “they,” it was spelled with a Thorn

A delftware plate with the message 'You and I are earth' reminding us of our own mortality with the message. 1661. One of my favourite memento mori items - it was found in a London sewer and is now in the collection of the London Museum #mementomori #skystorians
