3. Read a book by a librarian.

I keep describing And Then They Was the One by Martha Waters as "what if Agatha Christie books had kissing" and I stand by it. Great fun to read.

This letter randomly came to mind this morning. Still unbelievable. (And just one archival find in a great book.)
I’m just gonna share one letter that @dan-sinnamon.bsky.social included in his excellent new book, Big Fiction. It’s a real doozy, from Bennett Cerf of Random House.

Instead, I propose LR;WI (Long Read and Worth It). What are some long books that you read recently and enjoyed? I'll start: 🗃️

Everything is really hard right now, like REALLY hard, on a daily basis. But @ietonat.bsky.social made us breakfast tacos for lunch and my day is a little better.

The videos of the NYC kids at the mini podium are helping too.

2. Read a book recently adapted for film, TV, or musical.

I made a deal to read Dune if my spouse read Heated Rivalry. I should have checked the page count before I shook on this, but I have finally finished this behemoth.

National History Day (nhd.org) has a documentary film category. I would bet there's some good information in their teacher resources, though I didn't dig around.
