[presses buzzer] What are giant, annoying enterprise CMS options?
Wordpress and Adobe

Insects and Whales

The main question is what’s the total addressable market (TAM)

I’m experimenting with desktop Linux and I’m kinda shocked that there aren’t better open source browser options

But otoh calling them “forward deployed” lets mediocre execs pretend they’re goddamned warfighters
I think the trend of deploying engineers to customer sites with the hope that they will magically discover rich veins of product ideas is ultimately one that will not succeed for most companies

My main take on this show yet is that — in a good way — it has tons of cards yet to play and even so is taking time to make the audience consider the implications of its wacky premise both literally and as satire, before dealing yet another card that broadens/deepens the whole mess
Re Pluribus:

It’s kinda hard to engage with a show whose main character is so needlessly miserable and kind of dumb. Deeply incurious. Like, no interest in what these others are doing, etc. Solipsistic and self involved.

What am I missing?

Here is where my most and least woke opinions converge:

Universal, state run healthcare is *incredibly efficient* and *fantastic for business.*

The only capitalist entities that benefit from our current system are insurance companies and private equity-owned medical conglomerates.
all health care should be easily accessible and absolutely free. no insurance. no co pays. no fucking deductibles. free.

and that includes brains, teeth, and eyes too.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I see what you did there
📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has a change of heart.

Now that I’m an actual CEO, I can confirm every single thing written about middle-tier corporate product managers being “CEOs of the product” is complete and utter bullshit
November 14, 2025 at 3:25 PM
As a CEO I too want a cubicle farm full of workers toiling away for me 996, except I want mine to be miniature sized and full of adorable Guinea pigs
November 13, 2025 at 12:03 PM
My take is that there is NO productivity difference between a 4 day week and 996, that 996 (or even having to be seen at a desk M-F 9-5) is entirely performative and “productivity” and “collaboration” are fictions we let bosses get away with spinning so they can have their lil’ cubicle farms
Hard to believe that a few years ago there was genuine mainstream discourse about tech companies shifting to 4-day work weeks while today companies are bragging about “AI productivity gains” yet it’s all about 996.

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.

Another option: Chinese disruption in the form of significant competition, attracting investors or somehow making the OpenAI/Nvidia/MS trifecta untenable.

Apropos of nothing, if the AI bubble were to blow up into a 2008-style economic crisis—or at least the mother of all market corrections—what would be the trigger?

• A major system shock (security, legal, financial) caused by an LLM fuckup
• OpenAI filing Chapter 11
• NVIDIA having a down quarter

What’s truly remarkable about Wonder is that (as explained well in this podcast) they started with a truly bad idea — overpriced *on demand* food trucks in the _suburbs_ — and keep finding ways to make it even worse, while raising VC to give horrible food better distribution youtu.be/YbYu_W9SnQk

I’m writing on a project for a major tech brand via another agency, and I can tell which page of the Figma file came straight from the client because the fonts and colors for this 100% internal diagram are *perfectly* on brand.
