I replaced my dynamic insertion ad income (which included ICE ads, yuck) with Patreon pledges in 2 months. I promised to turn off dynamic ads permanently for every listener, and was honest about what I made from the dynamic ads.

Instead of ad-free episodes, it's dynamic ad free for all.
And if you're a podcast that is airing those ICE ads (and doesn't want them), talk to @smartbitches.bsky.social . She just ran a successful campaign to turn those insert ads off.

Please send air conditioner.

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

Wizened Millennials sneering at Gen Alpha: I told you the old ways are best

(Gen X, petting its moldering set of the 1983 World Book Encyclopedia: Soon. Soon.)
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

I remember a time, a long, long time ago now, when I used to go entire seconds without hearing something about the President of the United States of America.

You lost me at the olive nut sandwich but this is fascinating.
I hope, by now, you know what to expect with the 1943 Sunday meal plan. A simple Breakfast, a Big mid-day meal, and something to tide you over later at night. Keep in mind the word was different 80+ years ago when you look at today's meal & let me know what you think. 🍽️ 🍜 #FoodSky #Menuoftheday

I would like to state that… restaurants should not try to make their version of ketchup. Heinz got that good good. Unless you got that recipe on lock? It’s just sad tomato soup.

The hospital where I work keeps HGTV on the waiting rooms. There was an upgrade this week and the channels needed to be reset. Except one of the tvs is now showing Naked and Afraid to the lobby and this tickles me so much! 🤣
