New podcast: me reflecting on US economic policies since the election, what we foresaw, what surprised, what the impact has been and will be.

Includes a warning about the seeds being sown for the next financial crisis by Trump's crypto and Fed policy combo.

Excited to have this paper on social networks as a mechanism for cleavage stabilization with @dpzollinger.bsky.social out!

If we have you intrigued, also pairs with (and empirically engages) our theoretical piece on puzzles of contemporary cleavage research:

www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
How are contemporary cleavage structures stabilized in times of declining mass social and political organizations?

In this new paper with @davidattewell6.bsky.social @bjpols.bsky.social, we suggest that homogeneous social (educational) networks provide part of the answer.

Number goes to infinity because these people are making god or whatever but they also need to steal the intellectual product of the whole of humanity, destroying the earth in the process, and now they also need us to pay for it?

This is such a pernicious piece of disinformation I got out of bed to type this thread with a real keyboard. First off I strongly recommend against withdrawing your money from a bank because TikTok told you to. It's a giant waste of your time. Second: don't trust a man that drinks blue Gatorade Zero
@peark.es is it true are the banks out of money? Should we run to the bank and withdraw our money?

Yes, it's true. If we had a SCOTUS that followed the law & constitution, & electoral/legislative institutions that were actually representative, you'd be a permanent minority. Of course, the option to compete for the median voter by not holding extreme unpopular policy views would remain available.
Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

Is it maybe because the accomplishments include dividing his party’s power in the state senate to aggrandize himself, famously hating the city he wants to govern, refusing to fund the MTA, killing lots of people’s peepaws, and then resigning in disgrace?
