I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

Honestly, I'm afraid. Because this is not a good story. They didn't even try. The facts don't line up and whatever his status actually is the story they laid out isn't true. And they expect us to believe it. And most of us do not have very public details like ran in the Olympics to back us up.

Des Moines public school issues statements yesterday (scroll down) saying that Ian Roberts had an FBI background check in 2023 and it raised no red flags and Roberts said he was a US Citizen.
