I work for a podcast/broadcast about birds and the environment – a sweet little show that wants to throw the bums out. I'm inventing a weekly feature to inform our listeners about environmental causes where they can volunteer &/or donate. Got any you like? BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disability focus? Great! Thx

And with that yearly salary *plus* healthcare *and* a pension.

What. The. Fuck.
Congress taking an entire month off in a country where most people don’t get more than 2 weeks vacation is awesome

I’ll say this as many times as I have to.

No tax cut in the history of tax cuts has ever paid for itself. Not a one.

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

Scores of staffers at the White House National Security Council have been abruptly dismissed as part of a sweeping overhaul that slashes the staff from over 300 to just 50. The move shifts the NSC’s role from policymaking to simply carrying out the president’s directives.

Note that NWU has received zero communication from the administration about this. No explanation, no rationale, no demands. Nothing.

They're not even paying on grants that were already awarded and budgeted. It's tyrannical
All of NIH funding to Northwestern University is frozen. This pause includes noncompeting approved funding, new and competing grants with fundable scores. No reimbursements for money already spent have been received since March. This situation is rarely reported so please Please get the word out!

Extra! Extra!

Numerous reports are coming in that DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency, US) is going to eliminate the Ecosystems Mission Area at USGS. This includes the USGS Bird Banding Lab.

Read more here about why that matters and what to do about it.

Fight fiercely, Harvard!
Well Damn!!!

That's my kind of petty!!!
Linda McMahon wrote Harvard a letter to which they responded by noting areas that are in need of corrections and then posted it on social media.
Great job Harvard!👏👏👏

It is not "brand new" that a woman can say "stop" during sex, guy. If it's brand new *to you,* please walk into a local police station and register yourself as a sex offender.
The idea that a woman could revoke consent midway though? Midway though? Completely unheard of

All of that stuff is brand new

It's made men afraid to date, because now there are no rules, if consent was given in the evening and can be legally revoked in the morning

Odd, how the United States doesn't have enough money to give sick veterans healthcare, impoverished seniors Social Security, or hungry schoolkids lunches, but it does have enough money to pay a Central American dictator millions to torture American residents in his brutal concentration camp.
