US Atty McGuire had previously sworn that he alone decided to indict Abrego Garcia. But emails show, per Crenshaw, that DAG Todd Blanche's Office told McGuire that indicting was a “top priority”; they wanted it “sooner rather than later”; & they even oversaw its content. ...

This shouldn't require saying, but we highlight polls at a time like this because 1) it's heartening to see the American people rejecting fascism, which inspires more to join; and 2) because Ds are under pressure from certain quarters NOT to engage, so we need to let them know what the people want.

To the military, You Do NOT have to follow illegal orders . You know that already from basic, through the ranks, and Officers, it is repeated throughout your service. They are going after fellow Veterans and intelligence officers for saying what you are told on a regular basis. See the problem?

Trump, and likely Miller who is the guiding force behind all this, think the Insurrection Act is a "I win" button. It's not, at all, he's right that it's been invoked before and he should really look at those circumstances.

Invoking it for Minneapolis likely weakens his position long-term even.

They pirate-stole oil tankers, launched missiles, entered Venezuela with guns, killed 40 Venezuelans, and kidnapped Venezuela’s president.

Rubio says that’s NotWar™.
Administrations have come up with lots of flimsy rationales for why their wars don't need congressional authorization over the years, but this might be the most transparently bad faith and facially absurd.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

"ICE removal agents charged with doing administrative arrests, [Dan Gividen] said, lack the tactical training to safely do operations out in communities. “It’s not at all surprising that this is happening with these ICE ERO officers being sent out to basically treat people terribly,”"
ICE officers tell media that the conduct in Minneapolis is part of a plan by Stephen Miller to provoke as much violence and death as possible—which in turn will be taken as pretext for more. “They’re essentially operating now in a resource constraint-free environment and doing very dangerous things”
Former members of ICE say recent violence is "by design"
"What has changed is there has been an encouragement from the top to be much more aggressive in enforcement."
