Analogous to the class war--they started the war but did it in ways that are mostly invisible unless you actually look at what they're doing and think about it for 5 seconds. So when you actually start fighting in the war they can convince people to be like "WHOA WHY YOU TRYING TO START A WAR?!" 🤼
I'm kind of sick of fans being blamed for "toxicity/tribalism" in Wrestling when WWE has actively sought to build a monopoly and only tolerates a wrestling landscape outside their walls provided it serves their interest.

So, this is the perfect take on this. Nothing can ever just be organic and cool; it has to immediately be branded to shit, sucking the life out of everything and then overdone, removing any desire to see it in the first place
The Iyo garbage can thing is a good example of what I found exhausting about that company. Someone does something cool and it gets over for a show, and the company tries to force it into being "A Thing(tm)" and makes it corny so quick

I really hate when reviewers & podcasters praise WWE ppvs for being short. "By watching on delay, you can skip all the filler too!" is a bad thing, not a good thing. When I pay money (in this economy!) to watch pro wrestling, I want more. I know, maybe I'm the crazy one.

The "AEW PPVs are too long!" assholes will happily deprive you of bang for your buck rather than fast forward through the shit that's uninteresting to them or simply not buy the show. They'll rob you of enjoyment to hammer content into the mold they expect. They should be ignored.
The thing that incenses me about these assholes is that they demand the PPVs be shorter, which threatens the quiet enjoyment of repeat customers like me who will happily lap up a 4-5 hour PPV. If you don't want that much content for your money, don't buy it and shut the fuck up.
