German taxpayers are handing BMW €273m to once again attempt to push hydrogen-powered cars, when battery prices have once again dropped >50% in the past ~18 month and CATL is on its 5th-gen LFP battery.

CATL, BYD et al must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Sigh.

The philosopher Harry Frankfurt argued that bullshit was "a greater enemy of the truth than lies are".

But is generative AI-generated botshit even worse than human-generated bullshit? (Yes)

Large language models are unconcerned with truth because they have no concept of it — and therein lies the danger

This story requires a great deal more attention. The Trump administration is doing everything it can to get Russian gas back into Europe. This is Washington and Moscow now in full strategic alignment via a shared vision of a fossil fuel future.
Exclusive: US, Russia explore ways to restore Russian gas flows to Europe, sources say
With a frost covering Europe's energy relations with Russia, officials from Washington and Moscow have held discussions about the U.S. helping to revive Russian gas sales to the continent, eight sources familiar with the talks have told Reuters.

Global hydrogen demand has grown 𝟯𝘅 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 than the experts predicted.

For 50 years, analysts have projected rapid uptake (6-15% pa.). Instead hydrogen has tracked global GDP, growing ~3% pa.

Will hydrogen finally take off - or are we still being too optimistic?
