Reposting this from my replies. It's the dome theater, also known as a planetarium, at CultVR in Cardiff, Wales, and the technology I am currently researching to build my second one...
I’ve become obsessed with making a low cost, DIY planetarium dome with a negative pressure screen. With the right pattern of gores, the screen (and outside cover) could be made of Tyvek. Here’s the math.

Great thread on this wonderful composer. We are proud to know another truly American composer, David Amram - 95 this month, still composing, performing, inspiring.

We need videos from optical gas imaging cameras for CO₂ emissions.
What you see without an OGI camera vs what you see with an OGI camera.

What you are seeing in a plume of methane and VOCs.

You can see how it is so easy for them to ignore the ongoing systemic methane pollution.

I knew it was an agave, did not know it was a century plant, which blooms every 10-30 years, until two weeks ago. 6 feet growth of the flower stalk in 2 weeks. Will check it again in January.

Why are planetary scientists, astrobiologists and and SETI scientists so negative (pissed off, even) about Avi Loeb’s repeated claims that 3I/Atlas may be an invading alien spaceship?

Yes we’re a little over with the Beatles, but come on. This is sweet and simple. Some great versions of familiar tunes.

Today in the @thestar.com, I wrote about the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and the story behind “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”—and how what you hear on the Gordon Lightfoot classic is actually the 1st time his band ever played the song www.thestar.com/entertainmen...

A group of tourists at Tikal were watching, and recording, a group of coatimundis when a jaguar came out and grabbed one (of the coatis) coming within feet of one watcher.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.
