After 26 hours of fighting on the Senate floor, Republicans voted to rip health care from millions of people and let little babies go hungry. And they cheered.

I'm angry. You should be too. But this fight isn't over.

I rarely post personal things. But I need to talk about my 4-year-old niece, Hope.

She has a rare disease. A drug called elamipretide has helped her survive.

But the FDA recently denied its approval.

Now, her health hangs in the balance.

Please share her story & urge the FDA to reconsider. 🧵

People still in denial & believe Trump knew nothing about Project 2025, need to explain why he just handed the keys to the whole damn thing to its architect. He is the plan. Wake up.

I once wrote an entire book about how officials during Trump 1.0 worked behind the scenes to contain his malevolence and lunacy. The last chapter was a warning about how if re-elected he would work tirelessly to get rid of people and other guardrails that could contain him or had done so.

PS the violation here was Patel's tweet & that's why he deleted. I'll be filing complaint

reporting on this has really got to get better about communicating the magnitude of the breach here. if you read the nyt article with minimal context, you would have no sense that this was watergate-level impeachable misconduct
President Trump has personally ordered the Justice Department to open an investigation of Democrats' primary ways for raising donations.

It is the third time he has personally ordered an open-ended criminal investigation, each against a perceived political foe.

There are two possibilities: Trump is either lying now about the number of good-for-the-US trade deals that will be concluded imminently or he was lying about the objectives of imposing the tariffs in the first place. As a former trade official, my professional opinion is he's lying about both.

I'll say it again, the tariff system is being put in place by very rich men at the top of the U.S. power system and they'll be fine whatever happens. It's worth keeping that in mind when you see something like this from the president.

Ok sorry but getting on my soapbox to say that this isn’t a u-turn or a 180 or even a pause on tariffs.

The MASSIVE tariffs are gone but BIG tariffs are still in place. And more so than before last week.

Frame it right.

It was encouraging to see the President reverse himself on the so-called “reciprocal” tariffs yesterday, but I wouldn’t take much solace in it as the global trade war continues to rage. I still put the odds of a recession this year at 60%.

I don't think people realize that in important respects tariffs are now higher & more inflationary than what was announced on last Wednesday.

Since then we've gone from 54% to 125% on China, our 3rd largest trading partner. That outweighs delaying the increases on 70+ others.
