I've figured out why the GOP wants to privatize the #PostOffice. When the finance companies need to pump up their revenue, they can have their Post Office friends delay the mail just enough to invoke late fees. That's gravy for them.

We seldom think about the fact that calendars are a human construct. We divide the year into months and days, but the universe doesn't care. It moves through seasons, not the arbitrary division of days.

In the last week, I've had three robocalls and a dozen emails, all telling me that I've won a prize in a contest I've never entered. Some claim to be from major companies, and call me their customer even though I've never done business with them. Yeah, suuuuure!

I don't understand how anyone finds entertainment in watching people beat each other up. Boxing, MMA and the cartoonish melodrama of "professional" wrestling seem pathetic to me. Is this just people clinging to the rapidly fading Age of Machismo?

Public Libraries can be wonderful places where children and adults can find books that they can see themselves reflected in, no matter who they are, and books that can introduce them to entire other lived experiences. Both are so valuable!
