This is obscene.

That others in politics can’t or won’t say that this is obscene hits at the heart of the problems we face.

We are the 99.999%.

Tax the super rich.

Does anyone know if the uk RAC has an account on bluesky? One of their mobile engineers and broken my car door lock and I’ve been charged for the privilege. Hoping to get some kind of engagement on this before Monday, but their public lines all shut over the weekend.

This is handy as it means we can determine exactly what closeness of relationship with a notorious child-rapist is deemed acceptable for a top-level official, and what is apparently considered beyond the pale.
BREAKING: Peter Mandelson sacked as US ambassador due to "additional information" seen by Number 10 which shows "that the depth and extent of Peter Mandelson’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is materially different from that known at the time of his appointment"

Just hand your personal information to dodgy US companies to view legal content! What are you, a pedophile?

-the UK government, on online safety.
This is so embarrassing. Just an absolute nonsense.
UK government asks everybody to stop using VPNs.

"everybody who's out there thinking of using VPNs...verifying your age keeps a child safe...So let's just not try and find a way around. Just prove your age."

think that if "we must debate the fascists not no-platform them!" is your view then we have probably reached the stage, globally, where you may wish to wonder if your preferred way of doing things is actually working

think this is sort of interesting as actually.....no you probably didn't need to do "more research" into it? you just had to trust the state and local authorities to know better than you when it came to vaccinating your child? not good that the internet has killed faith in institutions!

[Note: this joke would have been moderately-to-quite funny if it were roughly between 2017 and 2019. Funnier than now, anyway.]

It’s good that they also returned fully to the monarchical tradition by selecting a king who would be power-crazed, cruel, heartless, arbitrary, self-enriching, trinket-obsessed, attended by sycophantic courtiers, filled with disdain and loathing for his own subjects, and quite, quite mad.
Wishing all of my friends in the United States a happy Independence Day. Only took you 249 years to go back to having a King... 🇺🇸

Time and again, those with the broadest shoulders contribute the least, while the most vulnerable are asked to tighten already-unbearable belts. Sunak pays a lower effective tax rate than a nurse. That should prompt reform at the top, not punishment at the bottom.

Your words may be kind but your actions betray you, Labour.

Streeting's war on trans youth, Starmer's cruelty to trans adults, and your u-turning on your manifesto promise to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition and acceptance" is shameful.

Extend this more widely and it could massively reduce firms treating fines and penalties as the cost of doing business and make them an actual deterrent.
If instead of fining water companies money, they were fined shares, they'd either have to do the job they've been paid for or lose the company piece by piece.
Re-nationalisation at no cost to the public.
If Thames Water can pay its "record fine" by passing the cost on to its customers, how is that a punishment?

(Presumably they'll just tack a few more quid onto every bill.)
