HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

Now we need to see full steam ahead from the government in terms of procurement and approval processes. We've never been closer than we are now.

Great initiative - really works well in @dublincitycouncil.bsky.social , on foot of a @dccbeta.bsky.social trial over the years
Have you lived somewhere with no secure, sheltered bike parking?

Lack of decent parking at home is a big barrier.

I worked with the Belarmine RA and the council to run a pilot to see could we support residents in a practical way with advice and funding.

Happy to be of service. I once got into a taxi in Dublin wearing a cool new outfit. I was nervous about deviating from the norm but did it anyway.

The taxi driver was on the phone when I got in. First thing he did was finish his phone call saying "I have to go, this fella's wearing dungarees"

While the cycle lanes and bus lane as part of it are great, this does solidify private car access to Sandyford

Congratulations Catherine Connolly, our next President of Ireland!

Your Green team in Rathdown delighted to have a President that is serious about inequality, the climate crisis and calling out genocide.

Final result in Dublin Rathdown:
Connolly 51%
Humphreys 40%
Gavin 9%

We see plenty of homes being built in Sandyford and the wider Dublin 18 area but where are the community facilities to match?

Imaginosity is now a vacant building here in BSQ in Sandyford Business District. The council need to be acting much faster to bring it into use as a community facility.

tax cheats cheat us all
Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys has avoided a property tax on her old constituency office after failing to declare she’s no longer entitled to an exemption.

For failing to make this declaration Humphreys could face criminal prosecution.

💯 - as the social contract says both parents need to work, this Green policy of a State led Early Childcare provision is optimal . My family's experience mirrors Hazel's with the difficulty accessing places privately, and you can see it's not a fair setup for childcare providers & staff either.
On this Budget Day, let's talk about childcare spaces or the lack thereof.

The State needs to become an Early Childcare Provider while working with private providers. This was the model we had started building that this Government is squandering.

irresponsible reporting from @irishtimes.com - dodgy component is a circulating pump from any type of heating sys (be it gas, oil, heat pump or back boiler), not all heat pumps (the tech we should all move to for climate change reasons)
Now causal observers think heat pumps are problematic.

Oh lordy. No, these are not "heat pumps". They are *water* pumps installed in conventional fossil-fuel heating systems. 🤦‍♂️

Listen back as I spoke to Matt Cooper on Today FM about the Government's new Drone Policy Framework yesterday.

The new drone policy leaves communities exposed.

No rules on noise. No protection for homes. No say for residents.

We need safeguards before rollouts – not years later.

Very elegant solution, just need to ensure the ownership of the cable leading to it is appropriate lest we get people “claiming” public parking spots.
