Was wearing black jeans, white tshirt and a Grey flannel shirt in college and the young woman I was chatting to casually asked if I was looking forward to getting to the colourful land of Oz some day

@ Bluesky mods, if you can see this, please make a separate Internet for small angry American men. There are too many of them wandering out of their lane lately

This post is prolly fake, but I am a believer in the spoon supremacy. Not for every meal, but most meals are best enjoyed with a teaspoon
I've started using a single implement to eat every meal. It's a soup spoon. I love it. There's no meal I don't eat with it. Even a chippy tea. My wife has stopped going out to restaurants with me, and she's threatening that family events are next off the list, unless I change.

We shopped in Aldi last weekend for a change, and we're still talking about how much more expensive it was than our usual, how everything is half the size we're used to, and significantly shittier in quality.

Aldi has done a number on the public, convincing us they're better value for money

I think I'd look deadly in a power suit. I also know I couldn't get away with it in my current line of work, the slagging would be chronic.

All I want is to join a silly little local choir in Limerick City. Why is nobody getting back to me, they haven't even heard me crow yet

I just gave a woman my spare canvas bag after her paper bags split. I swear she almost burst into tears. Kindness first, everything else after.

I love how we grownups forget ourselves when there's a baby nearby. In the GP waiting room, we're making all faces at a smiling baby. Even the GP receptionist has dropped her serious face to play peekaboo. We've all forgotten our misery to share a slice of this baby's happiness.

I work a helpline, and I've been dreaming recently that I'm being interrogation-style grilled on available supports in certain areas.

Who is job stress, can't say I've ever had the displeasure of meeting her...

79% of homes sold in Dublin this year were bought by landlords, 75% by large landlords. About 1 in 5 TDs are landlords.

This is disgusting dog whistling. The problem has never been people seeking asylum. The problem is people seeking to endlessly profit from folks just looking for a home.
🗣️ "The one thing that there is a problem with is housing right across the state, and the more that come to seek asylum, the more pressure it puts on that system.” - Fianna Fáil Minister of State Timmy Dooley

Some sick fuck in the Dept of Housing must be celebrating these figures every month, licking their lips at the idea of families losing their homes.
16,614 people in emergency accommodation during July 21 to 27.

5,238 children.

Does not include people in domestic violence refuges, sofa surfing, in international protection accommodation despite having refugees status, in overcrowded housing or sleeping rough. www.irishtimes.com/ireland/hous...
Homelessness figures reach record high again as total passes 16,500
Numbers show more than 5,200 children from 2,443 families in emergency accommodation
