Don't let those Target Back-to-School ads lead you astray to return shopping there! EVERYBODY GOT GOOD DEALS ON SCHOOL SUPPLIES RIGHT NOW! Even Office Depot/OfficeMax/Staples! Hell, even 7-Eleven got a smattering of pencils ✏️ and folders out! 😏

How does this make us great? In an era of increasingly devastating natural disasters, this is idiotic.

But so is everything about this administration.
The science office “is the heart and brain of the E.P.A.,” said Justin Chen, president of A.F.G.E. Council 238. “Without it, we don’t have the means to assess impacts upon human health and the environment. Its destruction will devastate public health in our country.” www.nytimes.com/2025/07/18/c...

This is a harbinger. Colbert will be first, but can late-night survive if critical statements about the president scare parent companies this much?

Then goes most unbiased/center news & left-leaning media. News or otherwise.

The same day we effectively lose Public Media.

Free Speech is dying.
Breaking news: “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026, CBS said in a statement.

The announcement came days after Colbert spoke out against the $16 million paid earlier this month by Paramount, the parent company of CBS News.
Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ canceled by CBS, to end in May 2026
CBS said in a statement that it was “purely a financial decision.” The show launched with Colbert as host, executive producer and writer a decade ago.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

How are we to move forward if we can't honor people's FULL experiences and legacies?

In today's world and given the atrocities of our current administration, I think the biggest question we can ask ourselves and those around us is where do we/you stand?

And then reflect honestly on the answer.

The irony is it was also illegal to learn about lyching during the era of lynching. That's why journalists like Ida B. Wells & artists like Billie Holiday were targeted for making this open secret known. And it's illegal to learn about lynching again with the teaching of Black history criminalized.
