Hope is an action verb. Showing some kindness and respect costs nothing. Trade snap judgment for some curiosity. Cats, raptors, strong coffee, music with soul, southern cooking, stacks of books, gardens with attitude. No DMs unless I know you. I mean it.

My advice is if your law firm can't say this, get yourself a new law firm.

"Elias Law Group will not be deterred from fighting for democracy in court. There will be no negotiation with this White House about the clients we represent or the lawsuits we bring on their behalf."

Those are people that we cannot satisfy, and we need to stop trying. We need to focus on rational people because nothing that they do is going to appease certain people. They just want to yell at somebody and be miserable.
Cory Booker fought his ass off last night.

We have all been yelling “FIGHT, DAMNIT!” But when somebody does, a lot of people are KILLING him in here saying “performative BS”

Pick a lane, folks. What Booker did is what “fighting” from the minority looks like.

We need things to unite behind.

Let's keep the good trouble ball rolling.
Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

Senator Cory Booker -- nearly 23 hrs into this -- is more coherent than your average elected official speaking (while seated) at an average legislative hearing.

Even if you haven't been watching all along, dip in for a moment -- he is making considerable sense:

Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.

My Kingdom and more for anyone to realize that awarding yourself a government contract is not a conflict of interest. It's corruption. When the bank teller takes the money out of the cash drawer and puts it in his pocket that's not a conflict of interest either.

In 1954, the federal corporate tax rate was 52%. It's now 21%

Due to tax breaks, corporations usually pay far less than the official rate

The US collects less revenue from corporations, relative to the size of the economy, than most other advanced countries

Make corporations pay their fair share

Millionaires are officially done paying into Social Security for the rest of 2025 as of today.

If we want to ensure Social Security’s long term future, we must scrap the cap and make the wealthy pay their fair share.
How the Super Rich Are Killing Social Security | Robert Reich
Social Security taxes are rigged for the rich — and the program is in danger because of it. A CEO earning $20M/yr pays Social Security taxes on ~1% of their income. Meanwhile, a normal worker pays Social Security taxes on 100% of their income. How does that make any sense?

More bullshit.

Donald Trump, you can’t shut down the Dept. of Education — and you know it. Fox News even knows it. So stop it.

We know you’re just trying to wear us out. But for the record, I am not overwhelmed. My zone isn’t flooded.

I will fight your illegal behavior until the cows come home.
