People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative.

A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

Trump just signed an executive order banning vote by mail and ordering the defunding of any state that does not follow through with it as well as engage in massive voter roll purges.

There won't be free and fair elections ever again. If you're waiting for 2026, it's already too late.

Here's an expert saying that "constitutional crisis" isn't the right term **because it doesn't go far enough.**

"The president is asserting dictatorial power and ‘constitutional crisis’ doesn’t capture the gravity of the situation.”

Remember to thank Biden for taking the "high road" by not arresting the seditious members of government who wanted to turn the USA into a fascist state.

I'm sure it was very important to spare their feelings and avoid their fake outrage.

As everyone should know by now, the anti-trans rhetoric isn’t about “protecting women” in bathrooms or sports … but about removing trans people from public life. And it’s working. This is a big company, making a big change that isn’t about protecting anyone (except men from having to see tampons).
"at Meta’s offices in Silicon Valley, Texas and New York, facilities managers were instructed to remove tampons from men’s bathrooms, which the company had provided for nonbinary and transgender employees who use the men’s room and who may have required sanitary pads" www.nytimes.com/2025/01/10/t...

This is an echo of the general election. The trans Democrat is blamed for "sparking" the crisis despite the fact she did nothing beyond be herself.

Before she arrived to DC, or made any demands, the GOP preemptively turned her identity into a political issue.

So, who is doing identity politics?
all she did was exist

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

This is a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation, and it requires a Boy Who Cried Wolf solution.

You cannot trust a liar, even if they happen to be telling the truth. Liars will never stop lying, you do not need to listen to them.

If their claim is true, then a more reliable source will bring it up.

You don’t have to write an article because Chris Rufo stomped his little feet.

You don’t even have to play little games with House Republicans.

You can, and you should, just tell them to get bent.
