This, to me, shows that culture wars only are palatable to campaign on for a permanent minority party. When the economy is managed well people have room to look at other minor issues and treat them as major.

I was told that protecting due process couldn't be a winning political issue because a poll from before this gained wide publicity showed people weren't already upset about it.

The only solution is to work for the next several years to build up, expand and fortify left leaning news outlets. Every other one has been co-opted or is a willing participant of fascism. I don’t know what else to say about it at this point.
