This, to me, shows that culture wars only are palatable to campaign on for a permanent minority party. When the economy is managed well people have room to look at other minor issues and treat them as major.

It’s like no one notices planes until they see a plane crash happen.
An 8 point negative swing on illegal immigration being a key issue with voters lmao

god they are cooked
It's not just Trump's approval taking a hit. Voters also say they care less than they did in 2024 about (formerly) GOP-leaning issues like crime and immigration. Concerns about the economy, social security, and health care are up. The thermostat comes for Trump www.gelliottmorris.com/p/the-thermo...

I was told that protecting due process couldn't be a winning political issue because a poll from before this gained wide publicity showed people weren't already upset about it.
Joe Rogan explains to his audience why due process is important and quotes Ben Franklin — "it is better 100 guilty persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer.”

He argues against shipping people to a prison in El Salvador without trial because we think they’re gang members.

Senators Chuck Grassley (R) and Maria Cantwell (D) just introduced a bill to reassert Congress’s power over tariffs.

—President must notify Congress on new tariffs within 48 hours of imposition.

—Congress must approve them within 60 days or they expire.

Guy worth $340B spending $25M in WI is like the median American worker who makes $39,982/year spending $2.94.

Meaning—a $5 cup of coffee has a greater financial impact on a working American than $25M did on a maniac billionaire.

This is how democracies collapse.

TAX BILLIONAIRES OUT OF EXISTENCE.

Agree and it isn’t just establishment dems, it is the coalition of republicans who lost their party and are actively trying to capture ours. Call all of them out and make them suffer for their shitty opinions and takes. #vichydems
AOC was right.

It's probably the right time for a lot of people to start entering the fray and running establishment Dems out of office.

French Senator Claude Malhuret:

"Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."

The ‘opposition’ in whatever form people want to imagine has to understand that they aren’t fighting a movement, they’re fighting an ideology that got everything it wants and will only be defeated by threat of violence.

The DNC is not our savior—it’s a crutch helping us stumble through this era. To build the country we deserve, we must create and strengthen our own progressive institutions. No institution is above scrutiny, as all have failed us. Let’s rethink our democracy, our constitution—let’s begin anew!

I’m honestly just tired of fighting an absolutely evil fascist regime on one side and milquetoast, do-nothing, consultant run party on the other. No one truly sides with the working class.

Dems can:

-oppose all Trump nominees until this EO is withdrawn
-deny unanimous consent to slow senate proceedings
-vote no on all cloture
-force quorum calls at every chance

It’s a constitutional crisis. There is absolutely no reason the Senate should be connecting business as usual.

This rings true to what others have said before.

Republican leaders are terrified of their constituents while the Democratic leaders just aren’t.

But they should and urgently need to be.
Some intel: I've talked to journalists and folks on the Hill about this. Last night after OMB's action, some Senate Dems tried to unify the caucus to vote against Duffy. Schumer, among others, opposed it, and it flopped.

The current Dem leadership strategy is to use strong language but not do shit.
Yesterday, every Democrat voted to advance Sean Duffy (DOT)'s nomination.

In protest against Trump's unconstitutional freezing of federal funds, 22 Democrats voted NO on confirmation today.

Glad to see more demonstrated urgency. But that 22 should be 47.

The only solution is to work for the next several years to build up, expand and fortify left leaning news outlets. Every other one has been co-opted or is a willing participant of fascism. I don’t know what else to say about it at this point.

Joe Rogan should be pressed in every goddamn episode of his god forsaken show how he fell for Nazi propaganda (Musks’ line of thought) to endorse Donald Trump?

Does he still endorse Donald Trump? If so, what does he still endorse about him?

It is no longer simply defeating these people and kicking them out of office. I want to see them suffer horrors while alive. We should unite to make sure Musk cries like a girl in the town square.

No one will read this so I am posting in the void but to get rid of the entirety of the democratic establishment, you have to get loud, mean and violent. The conservative activists did this in mass with all their institutions in the 70s. They started over but literally doing a coup.
