I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

Elon Musk is committing a lot of felonies. He belongs in jail, and so do his criminal associates. He may not comprehend that. And if and when he does it may make him more reckless. No assumptions about where we go from here.

super bowl ad

not even kidding about this, do a super bowl ad about how Elon has your social security number and can shut off your grandma's check at any time
Maybe someone with the means to do so should take out a full-page ad in as many newspapers as they can that just says “ELON MUSK HAS YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER”
"I just want to be clear about what's going on here."

If the government is being drastically reduced in overhead and services, our taxes will also be massively reduced so we can privately fund these resources locally… right?

Right, Anakin?

We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Yup. This is more solid action-oriented-leadership than the entirety of the Democratic Party (sans AOC, who remains the only Congressperson meeting the moment with the right amount of outrage and action).
Foreign countries don't give a fuck about punishing Trump supporters.

They care about putting the fear of God into MAGA senators or HRs regarding reelection.

Canada is not a wing of the Democrats. We want to flip the current congress against Trump's tariffs. And that mean red state senators

More of this. Resigning in protest has little significance anymore. Say no, throw a fit, make waves. Politicize the public in favor of the civil service. We are in danger without it.
