Nadim Zahawi arrived in the UK from Iraq as a child refugee. His family claimed asylum once they were here. Today he has joined Reform who will stop all in country asylum applications. Under his new party, his own family fleeing persecution would be immediately deported.

No.

Absolutely not.

This is an idiotic comparison.

Non-consensual sexualised images of women and children are created by adults, for adults.

Children being absent does sweet blue fuckall to prevent it.

This is a platform accountability problem, not a “kids shouldn’t be here” one.

I've had a little fact check and it seems to be true.

It used to take 5 to 6 months to train to be an ICE agent.

Now it takes 47 days - because Trump is the 47th president.

That's the reason.

Armed officers with extraordinary power.

FORTY SEVEN days of training to satiate the ego of a buffoon.
“It used to take 5 to 6 months to get trained. They've now lowered the training period to 47 days. Why 47 days? Because Donald tRump's the 47th president.”—Senator Mark Warner.

What strikes me is that the Tories most likely to defect are the ones who are, pretty crucially, not actually in the House of Commons anymore.

Funny that.

Former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi has defected to Reform. He came to Britain as an 11 year old without a word of English.

A decade ago, Zahawi was advocating (as Boris Johnson was too) for an "amnesty" to give regularise those without legal status in the UK

Please read this. The UK political & media establishment is asleep at the wheel.

Understandably, and routinely, the EU wants a penalty clause if we pull out of any reset deal. An insurance policy against Farage. We already pay a very high price for his Brexit shitshow. Now we’d pay even more if he ripped up any improvements. Which he insists he will.

Reform told you reducing council tax was easy. They just had to slash Woke policies, and a billion or two would be saved. They wouldn't even need to close care services.

They promise you that.

And then every single Reform-led council cut care services and increased council tax.

Musk called for government of the UK to be violently overthrown. He has called for deportation of non-white people and implied support for introduction of apartheid- a system he knows well from his native South Africa. CSAM is horrible and a good reason to ban X now. What more reasons do we need?
'You Hate Free Speech' is the go-to Far Right smear every time a targeted group pushes back.

Would be great if headlines like this helped people understand that ugly tactic.

The government is urging Ofcom to use all its powers – up to and including an effective ban – against X.

Worth noting that while the Telegraph is publishing some of the most detached from reality columns out there and encouraging unhinged commenters on social media under the cover of "free speech and debate", they are actively refusing to give right of reply to voices challenging their narrative.
I wrote to the @telegraph.co.uk at the time to complain about the false narrative about death squads & request a right of reply.

They ignored me.

Maybe they’d like to offer me the opportunity of an op-ed now?

Trump basically supercharged an agency with a long record of misconduct, handed it military‑scale funding, loosened hiring standards, and flooded it with thousands of new recruits in a climate of hate that he helped cultivate.

At that point, it wasn’t a question of if

...it was a question of when.

A few months ago Chris Philp called me “unhinged” in a Telegraph article about a video I made.

In it I warned about the brutality of ICE, & argued those who appease Trump would open the door to Fascism here too. I was called ‘hysterical’.

I have 0 regrets about that message.

Both Reform & the Tories openly call for ICE-style immigration enforcement squads in the UK.

While Labour tries to compete by boasting about its own number of raids & deportations that are barely any different.

Immigration enforcement shot two more people in the US overnight.
