Lots going on but from outside it seems that at least part of the calculus was that flight disruption for middle class and up travelers matters more than life disruption for untold numbers who’ll be deprived of health care.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio
There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.
Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

Yup. I had a guy a couple days ago make a snarky, condescending reply that he then hid from me. It is a dick move, and Bluesky allowing it is a problem
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
Hiding replies without my consent is *dangerous to me*
I use the mute function extremely carefully for a reason
I need to know if people are being violent at me so I can take action to protect myself
I need to be able to choose for myself who hidden

What strikes me, as a white person who is really bad with faces+names generally, is that the hosts of this show look absolutely nothing alike. Unless Cuomo can document a case of prosopagnosia there is no reason to confuse them except the obvious one
The actual interview is so much worse! He called Eugene Daniels “Jonathan,” was corrected, and then did it four more times.
WHILE he describes how diversity is a weakness because it apparently creates racism? So is less diversity the solution to racism?

Note: while not unprecedented, it’s actually pretty rare for a sitting Catholic bishop to participate in a demonstration. It’s just not generally what Catholic bishops do.
Thus: Getting the hierarchy involved in this protest outside an ICE facility is no small thing.

I see all the joyous videos from Mamdani's campaign, and I can't help but think of the dance party the dem convention threw for the roll call of the states. I sure hope things turn out better for NYC than they did for the rest of us. We all deserve JOY

I went and watched the video, which says antisemitism is of course bad but we won't be swayed by the "globalist class"; also leaves open many avenues to break with Israel
Forget Monday's two-hour Tucker Carlson interview with Nick Fuentes-- this 2.5 minute video from the head of the Heritage Foundation just completely shattered the right-wing pro-Israel consensus. The leading MAGA organization welcomed antisemitism into the movement with open arms
