Writing Center hoodies! I've never had the budget for swag, but my department bought these for us.

Commuting read. Published in 1935; chapter 1 already eerily familiar. #amreading

Because of AI, I now have to check all my students' sources in their research papers to make sure they're not hallucinated. When I clicked on one of the journals, I was informed that I was a suspected AI, and had to do a Captcha to get access. Does it keep spiraling from here? #writingstudies

Early morning writing fail lately, but just two more 8:30 classes next week and none next semester, so I am getting back into the groove! Finally figured out what was wrong with one of my last chapters last night. #5AmWritersClub #AmWriting

This is a terrific explainer on Bluesky and how it works and why, and I recommend reading it for a good basic understanding of the place.

"People are figuring out that they aren't morally obligated to listen to assholes on social media. And Bluesky is actively helping them do that."

🚨 This is not a drill. Melanated bookworms and bookish community, it's time to assemble. After nearly a year of being stalked and harassed to the point of fearing for her life, the owner of BlackLit based out of Farmers Branch, Texas is being forced to close her bookstore🧵 (1) #BlackBookSky #BookSky

I've followed and been followed by so many interesting new people as well as old friends over here. But now the onslaught of fake men, all those clearly fictional silver foxes who are surgeons or high up in the military, has begun.

Super excited to get my hands on this book!!! My chapter, in it "Black/African science fiction and imaginative resistance," argues that B/A Sci Fi can be used in conjunction with legal history to reveal how the law facilitates disparate allocations of time with material consequences.

Hi! I'm almost ready to query my first full-length historical mystery, set in Gilded Age New York.
I'd love to connect with people who write #historicalfiction, #mystery, #historicalmystery
I direct a university writing center and would like to find other #writingcenter people
Any starter packs?

This morning, I was unsure if my PATH train to NJ was on a holiday schedule. I decided to take a cab to my train. As I stood on 1st Avenue, a woman jumped in front of me, with her hand out. As she crossed the street, I saw her pointing in my direction, showing a taxi on the far side I was there.
