the thing about “democrats should take popular cultural positions” is that what constitutes popular is a function of an interaction between the public and elites. if a faction of elites start screaming about a vulnerable minority and another faction says they have a point, this shapes the public.
In a leaked recording, State Senator Elena Parent (D-42) said she’d vote for Republican transgender healthcare bans because trans rights are too “unpopular."

"You can go right to heck. I don’t think I will lose re-election based on you screaming at me"

Every single time I get a fundraising email/text from a Democrat I respond asking if they're going to stand up for trans & immigrant rights. Only ONE candidate has ever responded - and he didn't give a clear answer.

Ask them every time, friends. They need to understand their careers depend on it.
People who don’t think throwing out trans rights is a widespread thing in the Democratic Party need to wake up. The party thinks it shouldn’t advocate for trans rights because the polls and focus groups say people don’t want it. They are terrified to act and they must be called out on this.
This is basically the attitude of democrats up and down the ticket and it’s pathetic and unamerican

This Monday, I was invited to be a keynote speaker at a conference.

On Wednesday afternoon, I received an email that the conference was canceled.

What happened?

Well, the LGBTQ+ Health Care Conference, hosted by Indiana University School of Medicine, was set to take place on April 23 and 24.
Trump's vision: Discrimination and destruction
