Time to move past the neverending trial stage. Yes, basic income reduces homelessness.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

It’s fun to think about the surgeon who will botch your surgery 20 years from now and what he’s doing at this moment. He just ran all his homework through ChatGPT. He just read that article about vaccines and autism at the CDC website. He just watched an Instagram video about the moon landing hoax.

Had a realization as I left work today: this was the last Thurs I'm working this year, and tomorrow will be my last Fri.

I had a LOT of time-critcal work the 2nd half of the year. Thankfully I finished everything earlier this week. Thanksgiving next week & most of Dec dedicated to my remaining PTO.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Ugly game by the Bears, but still a win. Hate having to rely on Santos for the FG as time expires. Cannot trust him to hit from 48 yds.

Wish we could have a decisive win instead of a weekly heart attack.

That being said, hope the Lions lose tonight to put us on top the NFCN.

Been a busy couple weeks, so only just got around to seeing Predator: Badlands.

My god, it was so much fun. Great action. Great twists/expansion on the lore.

Dan Trachtenberg has been killing it with these films. Excited to see where he goes from here, more Predator films or otherwise.

Unseasonably 70 degrees on a mid-November evening (or at least it used to be). Taking the opportunity to grill burgers for dinner. Sun's near set already, so doing it by porchlight.

Just finished The Obelisk Gate (book 2 of The Broken Earth trilogy).

Loved this as well. Some mysteries solved, new ones revealed. Great character and plot twists.

Forgot to mention: 1 of the POVs is told in 2nd Person. Adds a unique aspect to the story. TOG reveals who is doing the telling. 😲

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.
