Do you know how badly you have to screw up as a Republican to get this kind of turnout in IDAHO?

Between Greta Thunberg and her fellow activists being kidnapped by Israel and Trump turning LA into his personal war zone, I hope people realise that protest, no matter how peaceful, will always be met with violence by dying empires.

Dozens of journalists were assaulted by law enforcement in Los Angeles this weekend.

The press were just doing their job -- a sacred one explicitly protected by law.

Press rights orgs will follow up collectively tomorrow.

Tonight, I emailed evidence to local/state/federal officials. My sign off:

⚠️ Warning: The Trump administration is circulating footage from 2020 to make the situation in L.A. appear more chaotic than it is. This is an intentional effort to manufacture a larger crisis. Stay alert. Pay attention. The propaganda machine is in overdrive.

A herring is a fish.

When a herring is preserved by salting and smoking, it turns red and smells.

It's so pungent that it's a great diversion to distract hunting dogs from their trail.

Now, a ‘red herring’ refers to anything that diverts attention from the issue at hand.

This language--"L.A. Immigration Protests and the Federal Response"--suggests that it was "immigration protests" that set off a "federal response." But this gets it backward: at every turn, the Trump administration has been the aggressor and the instigator. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Today, we wasted time voting on renaming the Gulf of Mexico—a name it’s had for almost 500 YEARS. We’ve got folks losing healthcare, schools underfunded, and rights under attack. We’ve got real issues. Prioritize THAT.

The House has passed a Republican-led bill that would rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, moving a step closer to codifying President Donald Trump’s push to rename the body of water.

Maybe I am just of the apparently “unpopular” opinion that politicians should have actual policies to offer that will improve society in a meaningful and peaceful way and not just gin up hate against minorities before they are allowed to campaign for office.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Trump: "The reason we're not talking about tariffs with Russia is because we're not doing business essentially with Russia".

US-Russia trade totalled $3.5 billion in 2024.

US-Lesotho trade totalled $240 million in 2024, yet Trump imposed a 50% tariff on the impoverished country.

Followed by some serious incursions on Eid in a week.

That's what Israel DOES. At some point we have to stop pretending to believe them or be surprised.

Ironically it will be a Republican President who will ban the second amendment and it will Trump. Historically, “strongman” authoritarian leaders do not want an armed populace. I’ll leave it to you to figure out why.
